Whirlwind Weekend

My week was turned upside down at work. Tuesday night I found out my horrific VP of Communications was let go. While that was cause for celebration, at the same time, my beloved boss, our Media director,was also let go. This left the media team (of 3) without leadership. We were informed that we'll now be reporting to the VP of Brand. I'm not sure how I feel about that but I guess we'll see how it goes. I spoke to our CMO on Friday who asked if I was interested in the Director position and if so, to get him my resume. I began thinking that I was not ready for such a position but then the VP called me into his office for a chat. He encouraged me to think about going for it. We aren't growing if we don't push and challenge ourselves. With that said, I decided he was right. I spent the rest of the weekend working on my resume and figuring out what my vision is for Pizza Hut (which I have to share on Tuesday). I have no idea when our CMO plans to make any decision for the position, but I know I need to start preparing now.

While all work and no play makes Corri a dull gal, we did find some time to have some fun. I had poker with my women's group on Friday, lunch with a friend on Saturday, then an evening with my boy. Mike attended a friend's wedding reception while Matt and Emily came over to visit with me and Noah. We had a lovely evening and then on Sunday we found more time to play.

Noah gets such a kick out of the phone. He loves to jabber on it and also loves to stare at his picture on the screen.

That afternoon we enjoyed lunch with my friend Suzy and her beautiful son, Jackson. The evening was relatively low-key and already time to get ready for the week. I'll be sure to share more as I know more (please say a prayer!). Now we're gearing up for Halloween! Lots of fun in store for the week!

Beautiful Weekend

What a crazy, hectic week! It began Monday when I had my second steroid shot. I had to rest for the day, but Noah was more than happy to keep me company.

The shot did seem to help, I feel about 90% now and that combined with physical therapy, I imagine I'll be back to my good ole self soon! I'll be attending PT for 5 more weeks. I'll be sure to keep you updated.

There are a couple of pictures thrown in this week of Noah (yes, in his chair b/c that's basically where you can find him) because I thought he looked so cute in his clothes! It's hard to see much of the baby in him anymore. He makes a very handsome toddler though!

I had a wonderfully short week after my shot on Monday and then on Friday I took the day off to hang with my girlfriends. One of my very best friends, Christy, was in town so we spent the day today. We started with lunch, moved to pedicures, fit in a little shopping before seeing "Whip It", finishing the night with dinner, then drinks. What a wonderful time with my girls!

We had family pictures Saturday morning and I was able to capture a few candid's before our session began. I can't wait to see how the professional pictures turned out!

After pictures we decided to spend the afternoon at the Arboretum enjoying the pumpkin patch. Christy went with us and was able to take some pictures for us. (Noah just loved Christy - he is such lady's man!)

Noah couldn't hang on to this pumpkin to save his life. Looks like we need to start lifting weights!

We had such a lovely afternoon, but Noah definitely got tuckered out. One thing I learned from daycare was that he has a fondness for frogs. I decided that the Arboretum was the perfect place to find him one. He was pretty happy to have him. :-)

Sunday was a beautiful fall day and Noah enjoyed doing some coloring while Mama cooked in the kitchen. That was a nice distraction since he's recently decided that saying "mama" every 5 seconds despite my response, was fun for him. It drives us completely nuts, but I guess it goes with the territory!

We also took a walk to the park. He enjoyed making friends with some other boys and watching them run around. This evening, Dana is over for dinner and some chit chat. It's almost time to get ready for another week!

We are enjoying the nice fall weather and hopefully it will continue!

The Wedding Weekend

I have to admit upfront, I was lax on taking pictures this past week. Noah doesn't look much different from last week so if you're needing a Noah fix, look at last week's blog. :-)

It was another busy and fun weekend! Friday night Mike had a rehearsal/dinner to attend as he was a groomsman in his friend, Jeremy's wedding. My friend Julie, was gracious enough to babysit Noah as Matt had fallen ill. I was a little worried at first, but Julie quickly won him over, already engaging and entertaining him after dinner. By the time I was ready to go, Noah quickly waved bye and shooed me out the door. I was actually quite relieved and it turns out he was a pretty good boy for Julie. Whew! I may actually convince her to do it again someday.

The rehearsal dinner was lovely, albeit a little cold as it was set up for outside and we had a cold front move through. Go figure! At least they planned ahead and had heaters and an outdoor fireplace to keep us warm.

Saturday morning we went over to the McWilliam's for a BBQ and visit with our friends, Pam, Tim and baby Jack who were visiting for the wedding. The kids played pretty well together (a minor altercation over a balloon but Karen saved the day with another.) It was too chilly to play outside but the kids entertained themselves well.

Saturday night, Dana came to babysit while we attended the wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and everyone looked great!

Sunday after church and lunch, Dana and I spent the afternoon at the mall while Mike had quality time with Noah. It was great getting to spend some time with my sister outside of the house!

This afternoon I have to get another steroid shot so I'll be taking it easy tonight. Noah must either be teething or going through a growth spurt - he's been particularly clingy with me - wouldn't go to sleep last night and then woke up at 3:30a this am. We put him in bed with us but he insisted on sleeping on top of me; that meant I got no sleep and had to get up at 5:30. I'm actually looking forward to the short day.

I start physical therapy tomorrow and attend 2 days a week for 6 weeks. Hopefully all of this will get me back to being 100%. I'm really tired of the aches and pains!

This will be short week for me - I'm taking Friday off to spend the day with my girlfriend Christy, who is visiting from LA. Can't wait to hang with my girls!

Grandma and Grandpa Blick Visit

What an interesting weekend we had with Noah. While it's always fun to have the grandparents around, there was no changing Noah's mood this weekend. Mom and Dad arrived Friday afternoon and we got home to some new plants in the back yard! Yay! We had some holes that they filled for us and we are so grateful!
Saturday, Noah and I spent all morning together. First we got his hair cut, then we ran a few errands while mom and Dana participated in the Mary Kay 5K and Mike and dad played golf. He looks much more like a little boy than a baby with his hair cut. We tried something new this time - a little more spikey. As you can see by the picture below, this will give you an idea of Noah's attitude all weekend.




If he didn't get his way, he cried and screamed and hit. That's his new favorite thing now, to hit and tell you NO. This went on the entire weekend. Part of it was that he did not get any good naps in over the weekend, which just made for a very tired, cranky boy...And very tired, cranky parents.

Sunday after church (which Noah mostly slept through thank goodness!) grandma was already giving him something he shouldn't be drinking. I'm not sure how much of her diet Pepsi he gulped down.

That afternoon we headed out to Dana's for some home improvement and dinner. My back was not cooperating so I hid out while Noah went nuts around the house. Here is one of the rare moments we got him to laugh.


He just LOVES being outside. Mom was going to take Noah and Sophie for a walk, but it looks like Noah took them instead. He did a really good job with Sophie (and she let him walk her which was surprising).

These were such adorable pictures, but no, we are still not getting Noah a dog. The rain didn't seem to bother him one bit. He did NOT want to come inside and most everyone humored him throughout the day.

Dad also got Noah to laugh but had to be tickled just to make it happen.

As soon as we got home last night, Noah was off to bed. The past three mornings he's woken up between 5-5:30. I really hope this doesn't become a habit!

I think school offers him the structure he needs so hopefully he'll get back on schedule today and will behave himself. We're still worried about him biting but he's done well the last three days of school so fingers crossed!
