Ian's First Official Hair Cut October 2011

It was a momentous day Saturday.  It was time to have Ian's hair cut officially by someone other than me (I know everyone is relieved that I have retired my scissors!)  We took both boys since we're having family pictures taken on Friday to commemorate Ian's first birthday.  Noah was a snap, taking about 15 minutes (it's not too hard when you pull out the clippers).  Ian on the other hand, took about 40.  I think between all the hair that needed to be cut, and his moving around, it was rather time consuming.  For the most part, he was a champ.  We put on Yo Gabba Gabba (I still don't understand the fascination with that show!) and used a scissors for most of the cut.  I think that helped as it wasn't until the clippers were brought out that he started to freak.  By the end, I think he was getting tired because I had to hold him so she could trim the last bit near his neck.   He looks so cute, but it's weird to see my baby disappearing and a toddler emerging!

Mr. Noah went to soccer while we wrapped up Ian's hair cut.  When they got home, we rushed over to see cousin Vivian Worthy get baptized.  It was lovely!

We spent the remainder of the weekend getting the house in order for guests to come next weekend in celebration of Ian's first birthday.  (I cannot believe my baby is 1 already!!)  Can't wait to share his special day.  

The weekend has already come to an end but we're gearing up for a big evening tomorrow with Trick or Treating. I took the boys up to Mary Kay last Thursday for trick or treating and now Noah asks me multiple times a day, "can I have some candy".  Its the first thing he asks when he wakes and the last thing before bed.  Of course, I'd probably be generous if he'd just eat his meals, but that's still tough.  Candy isn't even an incentive.

Speaking of not eating, Ian is doing much better, but it's still a challenge to get him to eat real food.  Not sure what he's going to do once he's off the formula.  He should get his one year check up soon.  I'm curious how much he weighs now (he's definitely not starving!).

The Arboretum 2011

We had a very full weekend (Oct. 22/23 - yes, I'm a little behind).  We began our Saturday at the Arboretum with the Hensley's.  It was a gorgeous day to be outside!  We got lots of good pictures and the kids had fun looking at the pumpkins and being chased by the daddies.

That afternoon we took the boys to the Fall Festival up at the Pizza Hut offices.  There was a petting zoo, pony rides, train ride, puppet theater, games, face painting, balloon making, food...whew!  Isn't that enough?!  We were only able to stay an hour (to which Noah promptly threw a fit) but I had a wedding reception to go to before taking Dana to "So You Think You Can Dance" tour.  (Which was amazing by the way!)

Sunday Mike had a soccer game and when he got home, we got ready to go to the World Series!  It was awesome getting to see the Rangers win that night.  Too bad they lost it overall.  So close...It's cool that we've now been to a Super Bowl, World Series, now I think we just need to get to the Stanley Cup Finals! :-)
