Summer Fun

We've been trying to keep Noah active in sports and he's been playing soccer a few seasons now but seemed to get a bit bored with it.  We decided to have him try T-ball this summer.  It was a good experience and some great bonding between father and son.  I think the hardest part is that there are so many kids and just one ball.  I think the game went a little too slow for Noah at this point.

We are so proud of Noah in all he's learned and the effort he put in while on the team.  He decided he wanted to go back to soccer for the time being, but maybe he'll be interested in picking up the sport again next summer!

Update

WOW!  I cannot believe I haven't posted since March!  Time has just gotten away from me!  So much has happened since then but I'll try to be brief.  I'm going to start by posting Ian's 18 mo. apt. information (for posterity) since in a few weeks he'll already be 2!  At his 18 mo. check up, he weighed 28 lbs (75th percentile), 31.8" tall (50th percentile) and his head circumference is in the 90th percentile.  It's to carry that big brain of his!  Can't wait to see in a few weeks how much he's grown.

While we're on the subject of Ian, it's hard to believe he's almost 2!  He's talking quite a bit, is very opinionated and definitely into the "terrible twos."  I'd be surprised if he went 5 minutes without some sort of tantrum.  You never know when you are going to piss him off, or what sets him off.  He loves playing with his big brother (who also likes to aggravate him) but they get along pretty well.

Noah, still as feisty as ever, but very sensitive.  You never know when you will hurt his feelings (unintentionally) or do something that makes him angry.  He doesn't like it when he doesn't get his way and he makes it very well known!  I think he really enjoys having Ian around to play with, but I don't think he likes the idea of sharing or taking turns. :-)

We went with their grandparents to the pumpkin patch last weekend and we took a few shots of the boys.

Mike and I returned last week from our 10 day European vacation.  We had a wonderful time visiting London, Edinburgh and Paris.  Although, the latter was probably the least of our favorite, we really enjoyed seeing and hearing more about the history there.  Nothing compares!  We of course, missed the boys terribly and were thrilled to be home with them.  Of course, the novelty has worn off and Mike and I wonder when is too soon to plan our next adventure! :-)

I am still in the process of looking for a new job.  Have had several interviews but nothing has felt like the right fit.  I have strong faith in the Lord that he is looking out for me (us) and the right thing will come along when it's supposed to.  In the meantime, we are preparing for Halloween and Ian's 2nd birthday.

I keep saying I'm going to get better at updating this blog, but I can't promise at this point - Life just gets in the way!
Cheers,
Corri

St. Patty's Day 2012

Mike was brave enough Saturday to drive me and the boys to the St. Patty's Day parade that's held on Greenville Ave. every year.  Our friend, Dean, stays the night in a parking lot to reserve space (he said it had already filled up by 2am).  Yes, that is how crazy Dallas folks are to find a spot off the road, drink green beer, and wait for the floats to come along throwing beads into the crowd.

On the car ride there, Ian was ever so talkative, so I decided to capture a bit on video.  Enjoy. :-)
The drive was about 45 minutes and we left around 8:45am.  Which was a little late as we knew we would get parking anywhere near the street.  Mike was kind enough to drop me and Noah off while he brought Ian.

Here are a few pics as well...

 Noah made a new friend

Noah was having fun taking pictures and videos.  This is a self portrait he took.
Look at all the beads I collected!
Taking a break in the back of an SUV (while little bro sleeps)
Yes, there was loud music, semi horns honking, people screaming, and yet, we slept

The parade started at 11 and finished around 12:15.  I was actually pretty impressed we made it through the entire parade.  We all had a pretty good time, but we were definitely ready for a nap!  Getting out of the area was not so fun - a lot of dead ends (roads still blocked) but we eventually found our way home about an hour later.

That was pretty much the highlight of the weekend.
Love to all,
The Reicherts
