This was again, another relatively uneventful weekend for us. Thursday night Noah chilled with me after his bath. He really enjoys hanging out with his parents. I should enjoy it now - I'm sure in another 15, that will NOT be the case!

This was again, another relatively uneventful weekend for us. I played poker Friday night and took 2nd! I've been playing with the same group of women for 2 years now! It's hard to believe we're still doing it every month, but it's something that I always look forward to. Mike was on duty Friday night and most of Saturday. I got my hair done Sat. am. Went for something completely new! Here I am with Noah, sharing kisses and smiles!

Saturday afternoon I attended the baby shower of a friend. She and her husband live in Austin and were only here for the weekend. It was so good to see them and share in the joy of their future arrival! Hopefully next time we can spend some more time together.
On Sunday, Mike and I tried another new church. It is very close to the house and the service was ok. The church was a little small for my taste so we plan to go back to the church in Richardson. After mass, I received a phone call from Noah's current care giver. She informed me that instead of keeping Noah for the entire final week, his last day would need to be Wed. Well, I can't say I'm surprised she would be so inconsiderate but now we're in a bit of a pickle. She has "plans" both Thurs. and Friday which is why she can't keep Noah those days. Really? I thought when you committed to child care, that meant that was your first priority. God answered our prayers because Pizza Hut has an opening immediately so I think we'll be able to get him in on Thurs. While the expense is hard to swallow, I am looking forward being able to see Noah throughout the day any day I want.

The remaining pictures below are those taken of him throughout the weekend. He's up on all fours, but still no actual crawling. I think being at the Pizza Hut daycare will provide him some inspiration being around other babies his age.

This week should be a relatively easy one. Mike is pretty excited about the Cubs right now so I know he's committed to watching some games. My mom is coming to town on Friday for a cruise she's taking with my sister. They are are leaving on Sunday. Anyone else jealous?! We look forward to seeing her at least for a day before she cruises off into the sunset! :-)
Everyone have a great week!

We're Just Not That Lucky

So, I survived my 4 days away from Noah and Mike in San Diego. Before I went, I got a picture of my two favorite boys. Aren't they adorable!! (I think Noah has Mike's eyes!)

Overall, the iMedia Summit was good. I was able to spend time with my best friend, Christy and it wasn't ALL work! We went sailing on Monday afternoon which was amazing! We also got to see Joel McHale, host of E's Talk Soup, perform Tuesday night. He was VERY funny and we also got his autograph and pictures taken with him (which Christy needs to send me!) He has two sons (one is Noah's age) and he worked them into his routine. Nothing gets me laughing like the antics of a 3 year old!
Wednesday I was very anxious to get back home and had a very uneventful trip (thank goodness)! Noah was pretty happy to see me, and so was Mike! Thursday morning we had a minor crisis. Noah's daycare provider called us at 6:30am informing us she was sick. This posed quite a problem since I had been out of the office for 3 days and had back-to-back meetings I could not miss. Mike also had meetings so he could not take off of work either. We are so blessed to have wonderful family members near by! My sister saved our lives and was able to watch Noah in the morning until noon, when Mike could pick him up. We owe her so much!
Friday we were struck with more bad news, again with Noah's daycare provider. She has decided not to take care of another little girl, about Noah's age and with that, has informed us she has to increase her rates. We are already paying on the high side so it's just not feasible for us. It looks like we may have to AGAIN find a new sitter for Noah! He has done really well adapting and I think he really enjoys Annie's place. She does a lot with him and we were blessed to have her. We can only hope that we will be fortunate to find someone else who will connect with Noah and where he can be happy. The search continues...
Friday night we had a very low key evening just the three of us. Saturday morning, Noah and I enjoyed waking Daddy up. You can see Noah lovin' on Mike!
Mike spent some time at the lake with friends while Noah and I enjoyed my sister's company watching a movie at our house. Saturday night, Matt came over to watch Noah so Mike and I could enjoy grown-up time with our friends, Dean and Klaire.
Mike, Noah and I tried out a new church on Sunday, a little closer to home, which helps us on time and gas! It was pretty good, although VERY packed. We may try it again at a new time. Next week we're going to try yet another one in hopes we can find a new "home" close to home!
Here's Noah playing after church.
That's it for this weekend! Shout out to my friend Karen as today was her birthday! Hope it was a good one!
Everyone have a great week and happy FALL!
Love,
Corri, Mike and Noah

A Little Rain is All

I'm writing my blog a little early this weekend as I'm leaving for San Diego tomorrow afternoon for a business conference.

So, first things first. All weather forecasts predicted a hard hit for Dallas from Hurricane Ike today and tomorrow. We were very fortunate as it has rained pretty hard today but we only received about 1" and most of the really bad stuff was still east of us. This really put me at ease since I have to travel tomorrow and you know how much I HATE to fly!

Earlier this week Noah took an interest in a new toy; well, new to him but it's actually really old. Mom brought up a toy that I had played with as an infant. How fun to now see my child entertained by the same thing that once entertained me. :-)

We've also been having fun with food. Noah has been doing so great with his solids and finger foods, we decided it was time to introduce him to a spoon. He likes it but only when he gets to pick it up himself. He does NOT like it if you force him to hold it. Dinner times are very messy but I guess that's the price we pay if we ever want him to feed himself.

Noah has also taken a fascination with faces and his new favorite toy is this little plastic mirror we have. He likes to look at himself but he actually prefers to wave and suck on the thing more.

Saturday was a pleasant day for the Reicherts. We enjoyed spending the entire day together. We drove out to the Galleria (yes in the crazy rain) and wandered around for a few hours. Noah enjoyed people watching and I think he enjoyed being with his parents even more. When we got home, we practiced crawling. Here are a few pictures and some video so you can see his progress.

And we have just one more photo to share (you can see I get a little nuts taking pictures of my pumpkin!) Here Noah is enjoying his evening bath with Daddy. He's just so cute in his towel (Daddy's looking pretty good too!) :-)

Tomorrow will be a sad day for me since I have to leave my family for 4 days. While I am excited to go, as my best friend who lives in CA will be at the conference too and I'm really looking forward to seeing her, I'm also really sad to leave Noah (and Mike). Noah is at such a fun age now and I treasure every moment we are together so to miss out on even just a few days will be difficult for me. I fly back Wed. and I will pick up Noah as soon as I possibly can! I guess on the bright side, it will be a short work week at the office.

For all of you who rode out Hurricane Ike, I hope you and your families are ok and for everyone else, I hope you had a great weekend!
Love to all,
Corri, Mike and Noah

Another fun-filled weekend behind us. This was Noah's first week at his new daycare and he did WONDERFUL! He seems really taken with his caregiver, Annie and her 2 1/2 year old daughter, Wendy. Annie also dotes on Noah so it seems to be a great fit and every day when I pick him up he is always happy and playing so I can tell it was the right move.
When I picked up Noah on Friday he was in a great mood so we decided to head home and have some play time and practice crawling.
Talking to Daddy
Daddy makes me laugh!
Don't bug me Mama - I'm busy

Noah is going to be very strong-willed. :-)
He's not quite there with his crawling but he's making progress everyday! I don't know if that is a good thing or not!!
Saturday Mike spent the day with friends playing golf while Noah and I participated in the Mary Kay 5K race with Aunt Dana, and cousins Jamie and Jess. It was a beautiful morning and we enjoyed being outside and hanging with the fam!

Jess is somewhere else at this moment
Sunday was a low-key day. We all had some playtime together and Mike had his soccer game (which he won and scored the only goal!). I did go buy the new 3G iPhone which I'm very excited about! (Yes, that was pretty much my big highlight for the weekend!) Dad are you jealous?!
Another busy week ahead!
Love,

Labor Day Weekend

It was a long and busy weekend for all of us! Mike and I traveled to Branson, MO on Friday to attend the wedding of a work friend of mine. It was a nice 7 1/2 hour drive and while it may seem long, because it was new countryside we were seeing, it wasn't so bad. We drove through the hills of Missouri which was just crazy! I had only wished it was late fall, when the leaves were changing - it would have been truly breathtaking!

My mom came to stay with us for the weekend to watch Noah for us while we were away. She came on Wed. evening and also watched him Thursday while we worked. I think they had a very nice time together. She won over Noah with just a few kisses!

Noah too had a busy weekend, running around with Grandma and Aunt Dana. He also got to visit with his great Aunt June and great Uncle Leroy. From what I hear, he was a pretty good kid. I doubt he missed us much with everything going on in Dallas.

Mike and I had a lovely time in Branson. We stayed at a resort called Chateau on the Lake. I got pampered with a massage and he got to play golf. We enjoyed hanging out with friends and partying like Rock stars at the wedding. (It had been a while since we have enjoyed an evening like that together!)

Kara, Corri, Amanda, Blythe, Caroline - work friends
Mike showing Carrie Williams what a fun guy he is.
We loved having some time to ourselves, but by Sunday we were ready to get back to our little guy. I was glad I didn't have to worry about him but it was so nice to get hugs and kisses when we got home! I'm also thrilled to have another day off to enjoy time with Noah and get some things done around the house.
Noah starts his new daycare tomorrow. Hopefully things will go well and he will adjust nicely. At least its a short week!
We hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend!
Love,
Corri, Mike and Noah
