Ian is One!

I can hardly believe my little baby is one year old already!  He had a successful check up at the doctor's office.  Currently 25 lbs (80th percentile), 29.5 in. tall (50th percentile) and his development is on track.  He's doing so much better with "real" food these days.  That's what he's served at school.  We have completely gotten rid of the bottle (which is so nice not to have stacked on the counter all the time!)  He is more and more like me every day in temperament (and I realize this is not a good thing).  He insists on being held whenever possible by mom or dad and when he doesn't get his way, he pitches a fit.  If he's angry he will throw something or grunt; he gets very jealous.  If I'm playing with Noah, he must get in on the play time too.  He's the same way at school with his teachers.  If they are paying attention to another child, or feeding someone else, he starts whining or grunting to get attention.  Its actually kind of funny, but I know it could get worse so we'll see how long I'm laughing.  He is very much intrigued by big brother, Noah, although I think Noah is already disenchanted with a little brother.  He does not like that Ian always wants what he has.  Oh boy....

We had an amazing birthday weekend with family and friends!  We missed seeing Uncle Ryan and Aunt Meg, but know they were with us in spirit.  The theme for Ian's party was The Hungry Caterpillar.  It turned out great if I do say so myself!

We all had a wonderful weekend.  The boys were spoiled with attention from all sides and I think it was a little tough when company left.  For Ian's birthday we collected donations for Toys for Tots so we are thrilled that we could provide for other youngsters who aren't as fortunate as we are.  I hope to instill a love of giving in the boys as they grow.  

We are very much looking forward to the break next week.  We'll be traveling to Alabama to spend Thanksgiving with the Reicherts.  We can't wait for the boys to see Great Grandma Reichert, as Noah was only 10 months, I think, and Ian was but a future dream!

We have so much to be thankful for.  I especially, for the health and happiness of my boys and especially my beautiful Ian on his first birthday.
