Snow Days

What an eventful weekend! Mike, Noah and I took off to Wichita Thursday night. My Godson was celebrating his 1st Communion on Saturday. We heard the weather might get bad over the weekend and thought it best to get to Wichita before it hit. We were definitely glad we did as you'll see over the next few pictures!
Friday we spent the day with Grandpa Blick. We didn't leave the house as the ice started coming down around 10am. We played with toys and goofed around. Mike Dad and I enjoyed some cards while we were there too.

Easter came early at Grandpa's house! Here are Noah and Grandpa with the "loot" from the Easter bunny!
Saturday morning Noah kept us entertained for breakfast while mom cooked us bacon and eggs! YUM!

Mike was nice enough to shovel ice/snow from my mom's front walk and garage door (it was iced shut!). We also needed a way to get to the church for 1st Communion!
We made it safely to church and then over to my cousin's for the celebration party (my mom's side). Here I am with my Godson, Connor Bennett (my cousin's son). Doesn't he look sharp?!
By the afternoon, the sun had come out and the snow started melting a bit. Noah got his first taste (literally!) of snow!

Ma...I hate this hat! I can hardly see!

What is this cold business?!

Snow tastes yummy!

After the party, we went to my uncle's (mom's brother) to celebrate his 65th birthday. Noah enjoyed playing with their two little dogs and getting attention from everyone. We went to see Grandpa a little while longer that night. Here they are playing cards. And no, it wasn't strip poker! (I know what you're thinking since Noah is missing his pants!)

Sunday morning we enjoyed breakfast (and kisses!) with Grandma then it was back to Dallas for us.

Noah did really well (for the most part) sitting in the car for several hours. It didn't hurt that we now have the DVD player to help occupy him for the long journey. Best decision we ever made!
After we got back to Dallas, we left again for a birthday party for his friend, Olivia. She was having her 2nd birthday party at Gymboree. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a center for playing and learning with parents and other kids their own age. They use music, art, sports, etc. Noah really enjoyed using the slide, the parachute and the maraca's. He even got a balloon as part of the party favors! He wouldn't put the thing down, even while eating his dinner, he had it in one hand.
We finally had to pry it away from him for his bath and bedtime! It doesn't take much to make him happy. :-)
We had a fantastic weekend with family despite the cold and the snow, but we are definitely happy to be back in our own beds tonight and to get Noah on a regular schedule again.
Blessings to all,
Corri, Mike and Noah

  1. Glad you had a safe trip. I went to a birthday party at Gymboree and I swear the employees there must be on crack or something - a little TOO happy, right? :)
